About Us The Ipsen heritage is embedded deep into the soil of the fertile, yet harsh, Bear Lake Valley.Located in an isolated valley with sage to the East and North with pine and pasture to the West and South, our operation thrives on sustainability, adaptability and thriftiness. All of these are required in every aspect of Ipsen Cattle Company.
In the early 1970s, Don Ipsen began his reign as the premier Herefordbreeder in the Intermountain region. Today, and three generations later, ICC continues to breed quality cattle second to none. Angus cattle were introduced in 1998 to add another competitive dimension to our operation, and we feel the English cattle fit both our needs as well as the needs of our customers.
Nestled in the Southeast corner of Idaho, ICC has been building a program for nearly four decades! Homesteaded property in North Bear Lake County laid the foundation for our sustainability and ultimately, our success. Built around adaptability that increases our bottom line, our roots run deep. Strong adaptation is required seasonally for optimal performance, and we feel our cowherd does this in stride. We invite you to take a tour of our historythat has led us to this point and created a position that will continue to propel our program into the future.
With a harsh climate and infamous weather, the cowherd at ICC has been built around the highly sought after 'convenience traits' of efficiency, soundness, doability, reproduction and performance. We proudly invite you to examine our philosophy within this site and visit our sales page to preview our upcoming consignments to the area's most prestigious sales.
The Ipsen family at ICC works to maintain the feel and flexibility of a family-ran operation while continuing to progress the ranch to the highest quality levels of a successful corporation. Whether working on the ranch, cutting hay, showing cattle, breaking horses or roping at rodeos on summer weekends, ICC is a comfortable setting where any rancher looking for quality can feel at home.
